Pasango ("we," "us," or "our"), operated by Pasango Technology, provides an AI-powered, gamified exam preparation platform for students in Ghana. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and safeguard your information when you use our website and mobile application (collectively, the "Service").

We are committed to complying with the Ghana Data Protection Act, 2012 (Act 843) and applicable international data protection standards. By using our Service, you consent to the data practices described in this policy.

  • Account Information: Name, email address, password, school name, grade level (JHS 1–3 or SHS 1–3), and date of birth.
  • Profile Information: Avatar selections, display name, and subject preferences.
  • Payment Information: When you subscribe to a paid plan, payment details are processed by our third-party payment processor. We do not store your full payment card details on our servers.
  • Communications: Messages you send to us via email or in-app support.

2.2 Information Collected Automatically

  • Usage Data: Quiz answers, scores, game mode activity, streaks, XP earned, achievements unlocked, time spent studying, and lesson progress.
  • Device Information: Browser type, operating system, device type, and screen resolution.
  • Log Data: IP address, access times, pages viewed, and referring URLs.
  • Cookies: We use essential cookies to maintain your session and preferences. See Section 7 for more details.

3. How We Use Your Information

We use the information we collect to:

  • Provide, operate, and maintain the Service, including personalized quiz content and AI-powered study recommendations.
  • Create and manage your account and track your learning progress.
  • Generate leaderboards (school, regional, and national) and display achievements.

4. AI-Powered Features

Pasango uses artificial intelligence to provide personalized study recommendations, adaptive question difficulty, and an AI study companion. When you interact with these features:

  • Your quiz responses and performance data are processed by our AI systems to tailor content to your learning needs.
  • Conversations with the AI study companion are processed to generate helpful responses but are not used to train external AI models.
  • AI-generated content is aligned with Ghana's NaCCA curriculum and is reviewed for accuracy.

5. Children's Privacy

Pasango is designed for students in JHS 1–3 and SHS 1–3. We take the privacy of young users seriously.

  • For users under the age of 18, we encourage parental or guardian consent before creating an account.
  • We do not knowingly collect more personal information from minors than is reasonably necessary to provide the Service.
  • Parents or guardians may contact us at support@pasango.com to review, update, or request deletion of their child's information.
  • Leaderboard display names can be configured to protect a student's identity.

6. How We Share Your Information

We do not sell your personal information. We may share your data in the following circumstances:

  • Service Providers: With trusted third-party vendors who help us operate the Service (e.g., hosting, payment processing, analytics), subject to confidentiality obligations.
  • Leaderboards: Your display name, school, level, and XP may appear on public leaderboards within the platform.
  • Legal Requirements: When required by law, regulation, or legal process, or to protect the rights, safety, or property of Pasango, our users, or the public.
  • Business Transfers: In connection with a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets, your information may be transferred as part of that transaction.

7. Cookies and Tracking

We use the following types of cookies:

  • Essential Cookies: Required for the Service to function (e.g., authentication, session management).
  • Preference Cookies: Remember your settings such as theme (light/dark mode) and language.
  • Analytics Cookies: Help us understand how users interact with the Service so we can improve it.
